apparently not... yet anyway

so in my last post i said i was going to start a picture of the day... yeah didn't happen... or it didn't happen yet anyway.  i was really pumped to do it when i said i would, but i have not taken a single picture since then.  oh well...

but i do have a new idea.  i am a horrible cook, but i do like to put stuff in a pan and see how it turns out.  and believe me, i do like super tasty food!  so i'm thinking i am going to start a second blog where i post my own, made up recipes.

i'll post a link to my second food blog as soon as i start it up.

yea!

so still nothing new and super exciting to report... but i realized something.  i am sitting here waiting for something incredily big and exciting and unusual to happen.  but in reality, amazing things happen every day.  granted, i don't need to report them all, but they are still cool.  here is an example:

i went and opened a savings account, and the lady who was working at the bank told me that she knew me when i was little.  apparently my dad was her volleyball coach and i would come to practice.  she remembered me from when i was about 2 or 3.  so that's my shiny story of the day!


in other news, i think i have an idea for what to do this blog.  i am going to start taking pictures of the day... and posting them.  maybe no one will really care, but i think it is cool!

past few days... nothing too exciting

so i realized i haven't written in the past few days.  basically because nothing new has happened.  i need to do homework, but that is about it.  so despite having nothing fun/crazy/ridiculous to report... i wanted to put up some of my favorite pictures.  keep in mind:  1) this is not an all inclusive showing of my favorite pictures, and 2) i only took two of these myself... the other two are from a friend.

my shiny little thoughts of the day

so, i basically about died today... twice.  ok, no i didn't... but i did drive in some ridiculously crazy weather.  and i felt such energy while doing it.  it gave me such an adrenaline rush.  yes it was scary, but it was also a lot of ... fun!  so that's my story.  i like that crazy, reckless bit of life.

so, in realization of this energy, this rush that i felt today, i wanted to share a picture that i feel has a lot of energy.

i absolutely love it...

so here's to many, many more reckless, crazy, ridiculous, shiny bits of life!

first little sparkle to send out into the world

so, i am starting off on a new blog.  maybe it is a little pretentious... maybe i am a little full of myself.

but i have decided that i need to shine my own bright light out there.  my grandma always sends me cards with little written messages such as "you are beautiful.  shine your light"  "don't forget to shine for everyone to see!"  i love my grandma beyond words and her little encouragement always make me happy.  i have decided to honor my brilliant and wise grandma by shining for her!

to add to this, i recently heard a quote.  "hold fast to your dreams.  for if your dreams die, you are broken-winged bird that cannot fly."  these words were spoken by reverend billy kyles.  i have always believed in my dreams and i felt that they were an important part of me.  but this little tidbit of wisdom really made me realize how important my dreams are.

i don't know what this blog will contain.  i don't know what form it will take.  all i know is i am a dreamer and i am going to shine on.
